Unlock Your Superpower: Self-Confidence!

Imagine stepping onto a stage and feeling completely confident.

You’re not just standing there; you feel at home, happy, and fulfilled. ✨

➡️What would that mean for you? How would that confidence ripple out into your relationships, your work, or your studies?

We spoke with a remarkable 15-year-old singer, Emma,  who shared her thoughts on what music has done for her. Here is what she said, “The feeling when I first step onto the stage is unexplainable – I just feel it so deep inside of me. It makes me feel really happy and fulfilled.”

But it’s not just about how it makes her feel. “When people compliment or remember my art, it makes me feel happy and I realize that my art is making an impact on other people too”,  she added.

The arts offer us SO MUCH  more than learning to read and play music.

The commitment, conviction, and courage required to excel are transformative. Music fosters empathy, strengthens connections, and builds a foundation of SELF-TRUST.

✅Self-trust and self-belief are the golden tickets to a successful, fulfilling life—don’t you agree?

In her “Impact of the Arts” interview Emma  shared, Music has given me the ability to realize that I can do things that I thought were impossible – a couple of months ago I couldn’t do the things I’m doing now.”

Through her artistic practice, Emma has cultivated self-efficacy—the belief that she can and will succeed—not only in music, but in other areas of her life too.

Artistic practice goes deeper than you might think.

💡A study by Stajkovic and Sergent (2019) found that “higher levels of self-efficacy are associated with greater motivation, resilience, and achievement.” Individuals with strong self-efficacy beliefs are more likely to set challenging goals, persist through difficulties, and ultimately achieve better outcomes across various domains.

I want to challenge you this year to push past your comfort zone. Get uncomfortable.

Embrace the discomfort and watch yourself grow, trust, and transform. 💥

Transformation doesn’t happen in the “easy zone”.

🔓Music lessons aren’t just about learning an instrument or singing—they’re about unlocking your potential, building CONFIDENCE, and realizing that you can achieve the extraordinary.

So why not take that first step? Your future self will thank you;)

Are you ready to push past your comfort zone? Join us this season!

———-

I had the great pleasure of interviewing Emma Ganley and we got to chat about the impact of music and the arts in her life thus far.

Emma developed an interest in music at the ripe age of five when she performed as “Gretl Von Trapp” in her first musical – The Sound of Music. During the pandemic she joined Donais Studios, taking singing lessons and is now singing in RISE Children’s Choir.

Emma is involved with community theatre, as well as her school’s integrated arts program (iRAP) and she is the Junior Rep for music council at her school. She is currently taking singing lessons with me at Donais Studios 🙂

Through our conversation, I asked Emma how she feels that she has transformed through her artistic practice. She said so beautifully: “I think it [my artistic practice] has helped me become more outgoing because when I was younger I was more hesitant. It has also helped me create a vision of what I want to be and helped define the path I want to take after high school”.

In our interview I asked Emma how music shaped her life and affected her relationships, accountability, leadership or confidence, and Emma said “I have done arts together with my best friend my whole life, and I have developed a lot of newer friendships with people in choir and theatre. There has been a lot of bonding through shared experiences – running around backstage hoping to get the right harmonies and working together.”

She also told me that “music has given me the ability to realize that I can do things that I thought were impossible – a couple of months ago I couldn’t do the things I’m doing now.

I then asked Emma what her favourite thing about her art form (singing and theatre) is and she had two things to say:

  1. How it makes me feel. The feeling when I first step onto the stage is unexplainable – I just feel it so deep inside of me. It makes me feel really happy and fulfilled.
  2. How it makes other people feel. When people compliment or remember my art, it makes me feel happy and I realize that my art is making an impact on other people too.

I asked Emma if there was any specific inspiration behind her getting involved with the arts and she said that her mom had a friend who would perform in shows. She explained that when she was younger, her mom would take her to see her shows and Emma felt that she was so talented and accomplished that inspired her to get involved. This is a full circle moment because this family friend’s artistic practice impacted Emma’s life, and now she realizes hers is doing the same.

The power of the arts is incredibly impactful.
